Specifications
DIN 7/16 MALE Connector
DIN 7/16 Family
The 7/16 DIN connector is a large, high-power RF connector with excellent passive intermodulation (PIM) performance, rated to 7.5 GHz. Its low PIM characteristics make it the standard connector for cellular base station antennas, tower-top amplifiers, and any installation where intermodulation distortion would degrade network performance.
Typical Applications
Cellular base station antennas, tower-top amplifiers, high-power broadcast, any low-PIM installation.
Gender & Polarity Note
Check the product datasheet for gender and polarity details. RF connectors are available in male (pin), female (socket), and reverse-polarity (RP) variants.

Frequently Asked Questions
What frequency range does the DIN 7/16 MALE connector support?
DIN 7/16 connectors are rated DC – 7.5 GHz. The effective upper frequency of a cable assembly is limited by the lowest-rated component — either the cable or the connector. Always verify both are within spec for your target frequency.
How many times can a DIN 7/16 connector be mated and unmated?
DIN 7/16 MALE connectors are rated for approximately 5,000 mating cycles. Exceeding this can cause wear on the contact surfaces, increasing insertion loss and VSWR. For applications with very frequent connects and disconnects, consider a connector rated for higher cycle counts.
What torque should I use to tighten a DIN 7/16 connector?
7/16 DIN connectors require 20–30 N·m of torque for proper sealing and electrical contact. Always use a calibrated torque wrench.
Are the DIN 7/16 connectors on CoaxRF assemblies weatherproof?
Our standard cable assemblies use high-quality connectors suitable for most indoor and sheltered outdoor applications. For fully weatherproof outdoor installations, we recommend applying self-amalgamating tape over the connector junction to prevent moisture ingress.
Do CoaxRF cables with DIN 7/16 MALE connectors ship assembled and tested?
Yes. Every cable assembly — including those terminated with DIN 7/16 MALE connectors — is hand-assembled and continuity tested before shipping. Cables ship free within the US from our US facility.
